Suzanne Presley, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Presley grew up in rural eastern Oregon near her grandfather’s farm.  It was there that she realized her bond with animals, caring for the sick, injured, or orphaned on the farm. After high school, Dr. Presley moved to LA to work and begin college. There she attended UCLA and began her studies in biology and animal behavior with a special interest in primate behavior. She spent the next four years studying vervet monkeys, and the reproductive behavior of lowland gorillas at the LA Zoo. For one year she lived with and taught sign language to Bulan, a young orangutan.

Dr. Presley received her BA from UCLA and continued on to obtain a Master’s degree in biology in 1980. It was in 1980 that she was accepted to the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1984.

The early part of Dr. Presley’s veterinary carrier started in Northern California before moving to Albuquerque New Mexico, and then finally to southwest Florida in 1996. She has worked in and with various veterinary practices across Lee and Collier counties before settling in at Verandah Pet Hospital in 2017.

Dr. Presley has thirty-eight years of experience practicing small animal medicine.  Her special interest lies in internal medicine and feline medicine, with a newfound interest in ultrasonography.

Dr. Presley is married to Dr. Berger, our local board-certified veterinary surgeon.  Together they have a son, three cats, a dog, and a huge heart for the pets of SW Florida. When not working Dr. Presley loves to travel, practice yoga, read, garden, and spend time with her family and fur kids.
