Kristie Welsh

Dr. Kristie Welsh was raised in Paducah, Kentucky where she grew up on her parents' mini farm.  She knew at a very early age that her calling was to care for and protect animals.   Seeing her family veterinarian help her pets, especially at crazy hours of the night, she was inspired to learn everything possible to help those without voices.  To her, growing up alongside animals was a privilege and a blessing.  She finished her undergraduate studies, summa cum laude,at the University of Kentucky with a BS degree in biology. After a major tragedy in her life, she was accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University.  She graduated cum laude with her DVM degree in 2004. She moved to Florida where she has practiced the last 20 years.  

Over the years her interests have changed, but recently she has renewed her interest in the care of geriatric patients and alternative modalities of pain control for animals.  She enjoys listening to music, gardening in her succulent and cactus garden and playing lots of logic games.   She currently resides in Cape Coral with her husband, Chris,  her son, KC, and her two Golden Doodles, Arthur and Boomer.
