About the Role

Verandah Pet Hospital is seeking a compassionate, curious, and team-oriented Associate Veterinarian to join our small but mighty general practice in East Fort Myers, Florida.

About the Hospital

Small animal GP (100% small animal; exotics optional if you’re interested)
Four exam rooms + overflow/PTS room
Large, fully equipped surgery suite
Recently refreshed lobby and exam rooms
Paper-lite practice
Average of ~13 patients/day (fewer on surgery days)
30-minute appointments, with flexibility for longer visits when needed

Equipment & Medical Capabilities

You’ll have access to tools that support excellent medicine, including:

Digital radiography
Ultrasound
Therapeutic laser
M3 Dental Machine
Catalyst, ProCyte, Sedivue, Abaxis (including exotics capability)
AAHA-level monitoring protocols including capnography
In-house orthopedics and advanced soft tissue surgery
Access to a traveling boarded surgeon and boarded internal medicine specialist

Team & Support

Doctor-to-support staff ratio: 1 DVM : 1 technician : 1 assistant
One credentialed technician on staff
Strong emphasis on professional growth with CE allowance, conferences, and Vetcor University
A supportive, open team that values collaboration and continuous learning

Schedule & Work-Life Balance

Work-life balance isn’t a buzzword here—it’s how we operate.

4-day workweek
Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
No nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call
Flexible scheduling with surgery and appointment days built around doctor preference

New Graduates & Experienced DVMs Welcome

We are open to the right new graduate and offer mentorship from a long-term DVM who enjoys teaching and will remain on staff part-time (2–3 days/week). We’re also happy to consider part-time veterinarians. Schedules and caseloads are customized to support confidence, growth, and longevity.
